Art Therapy for Adults
Art therapy can help adults better understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By creating images, and objects individuals can begin to see the thoughts and feelings that they have inside them and be supported by the art therapist to better understand themselves, and find solutions.
Art therapy and the making of marks, images, photos, or objects do not rely solely on words, making it helpful to explore challenges that individuals are facing that are hard to define, difficult to find the works for, or are very complex.
Art therapy can involve the use of mark-making, painting, drawing, junk modelling, clay, fabric, photography, collage, and stop-motion animation depending on the individual’s interests, needs and goals for therapy.
