Tess Brooks
Art Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and Psychotherapist
My name is Tess and I provide counselling, psychotherapy, and art therapy for adults, children, and young people who have a range of emotional, and behavioural needs.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I work within these organisations’ professional codes of ethics. I am fully insured and hold a current DBS certificate.
About me as a therapist
As a therapist, I offer the people I work with a non-judgemental space that can help to creatively explore and talk about life events past or present. Building a meaningful relationship with those I work with can help to facilitate new perspectives that will bring about a sense of acceptance, or even re-evaluate, situations or feelings.
At the heart of my work, I value individuals and I work in a person-centered way. This means I will adapt my skills and the way I work to each individual, and listen to each person to understand what is needed from art therapy sessions.
I am passionate about being individually creative and believe that learning or developing a creative skill, or creative identity, can improve mental health, and inner well-being. I personally enjoy creative activities and use a range of mediums.
